Among all the possible events a company operating in China may encounter during its life cycle, parting with its employees must always be considered as one of the most challenging ones. Be it for economic, personal or other reasons, the early termination of a labor contract presents multiple legal and practical obstacles that need to be borne in mind before taking the ultimate decision. And as if that were not enough, things get even more complicated when staff on the management level is concerned.
This seminar has been designed by Eiger to provide participants with a valuable tool kit for different termination scenarios, specifically focusing on the termination of employment of managerial personnel. Receiving first-hand experience from numerous cases in this field, participants will also play an active role in the course of this seminar in order to simulate future actions in similar situations.

About the speakers:
Xu Tian
Partner at Eiger
XU Tian is a partner at Eiger’s Shanghai office and leads its China practice. Tian is admitted to the PRC bar, and his practice focuses on foreign direct investments, corporate and M&A, employment and tax. As a lawyer admitted to the Bar in Germany, Felix joined Eiger’s Shanghai office in 2018. Since then, Felix has advised international clients on a wide array of corporate and foreign investment matters as well as in the field of legal issues related to the rapidly progressing digitalization of the Chinese economy and society. Felix also focuses on the legal implications of sustainable economic development and the digital economy in Germany, the European Union, and on an international level.
