As we are less than 45 days to a new decade, more and more, we find ourselves getting entangled in the constant, exponential growth of digital technologies. “Blockchain is so 2017” similar catch phrases may appear among those who are tech-savvy. Yet to laymen, Siri’s song identification function still suffices to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. It is thus important to stay informed on the lastest advancements going into 2020.

5G, which stands for “fiſth generation”, is an upcoming standard for mobile telecommunications service that promises to be significantly faster than today’s 4G technology. This will mean that users will be able to browse the internet faster and more smoothly, and allow devices to have better connectivity and lower latency.

Artificial Intelligence of Things is where AI and the IoT meet, bringing intelligence to the edge. As AI moves closer to the edge and into devices, such as sensors, cameras and mobiles, in many cases it eliminates the need for racks of cloud-based computing and instead moves the analysis to the IoT device itself, removing any delay in the processing.

Ultimately, it’s about transforming the IoT data into useful information for an improved decision-making process, with processing done in a location where it is most needed.

On the night of November 28, swissnex China office will host a joint lecture with Nihub on the Future Impact of 5G & AIoT. Two keynote speakers – Qian Hao and Sergio Medyk – will offer their qualified insights on these two interconnected fields. They will discuss how the combination of 5G and AIoT will impact our day-to-day lives as well as business.

About the Speakers

Qian Hao

Qian Hao founded Taro Software and Smart Hardware Platform, whose smart tracking technology has obtained more than 20 domestic and international patents. With 10+ years’ experience of Internet industry, he was the Co-Founder&COO of Gexin Interaction Network Technology Co., Ltd., a public company listed in China Growth Enterprise Market. He has led Getui platform to cooperate with Internet Giants like Sina, Baidu, 91Mobile, FocusMedia, reaching more than 80million users.

Sergio Medyk

Sergio Medyk is a Product Line Manager at Nokia in China, currently working with 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) for Home Broadband. He has over 15 years in the telecommunications industry, with previous roles as Soſtware Engineer, 3rd party Project Manager and Product Manager for Nokia’s Mobile Networks (Cloud RAN).

Lucas Rondez

Lucas is the founder, CEO, and investment manager of niHUB Innovation Center & Startup Accelerator & Incubator. niHUB is Lucas’ most recent company, based in Binjiang, Hangzhou, aiming to assist foreign startups and companies with starting up, scaling, and succeeding in the Chinese market.
Lucas also founded and remains the CEO of Hangzhou Boru Network Technology, an internet company based in Hangzhou, running “nihao” app. It was here where Lucas experienced and overcame numerous obstacles of a foreign-run startup in China, discovering his passion in startup facilitation and incubation.
