New Informal Mechanism Regarding IPR Infringements on the Internet

In March 2014, Switzerland and China agreed to set up an informal mechanism through which complaints of Swiss companies in the area of online infringements of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) can be channelled to the relevant Chinese authorities. SwissCham works together with the Embassy of Switzerland in China and the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property to set up an informal mechanism for complaints of Swiss companies regarding IPR infringements on the Internet. Relevant cases will be transmitted to the Chinese authorities, i.e. the Office of the IPR Leading Group hosted by MOFCOM. This informal complaints mechanism is currently operating on a trial-basis. Swiss and Chinese authorities will take stocks of experiences made in the first half of 2015.
