Purpose of the role

The main tasks are Metco Coating Service sales and project management activities for thermal spraying and laser cladding applications in China.

Including target market investigation, explore customer base, make coating proposal and quotation, coating samples and qualification as well as project management. Update the customer rolling forecast, support customer audit, involve in key accounts strategy & management, promoting OSS coatings, increasing market share in the different Markets.

Cooperate with local and global MCS and CSC team, OSS Productions lines, and local cross functional team and distributors as well as strategic partners.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • MCS projects management:
    • Lead function project team to achieve project results on time and success
    • Optimize project management procedure for MCS projects
    • Assign the project tasks and coordinate with the team members
    • Takes responsibility for communication with customer for project topics
    • Supporting customer projects from opportunity evaluation to industrialization/production
  • MCS Sales activities:
    • Involve in and execution of Budget & 5YBP sales strategies and plans, continually explore MCS customer base
    • Prepare the coating proposal and IQC & FQC standards based on customer requirement & expectation as well as application situation.
    • Work with internal CSC, production and quality team to do project feasibility analysis.
    • Make quotation for samples and budgetary quotation for batch production.
    • Make alignment with production team to arrange the sample testing
    • Analyse and summarize the testing result with the support from lab, follow up the customer qualification process and feedback, discuss with internal production & quality team as well as customer and make improvement solution for next testing if it is necessary.
    • Make cost analysis with TCC and prepare the contract for batch production.
    • Responsible for sales forecasts, project management and customer relationship maintenance.
    • Responsible for account receivables collection from customers.
    • Market research and maintain region’s product pricing competitiveness by monitoring competitors’ activities and get performance feedback from customers to keep in line with their activities.
    • Acquire updated information of new application through cooperating & communicating with global MCS and CSC team.
    • Execute ” copy-paste ” model to find more leads and opportunities in the relevant markets
    • Localize the new application into China through MCS sales pipeline and make align with global MCS team for global customers.
    • Perform other duties as required.

Required education, experience, knowledge

  • Bachelor degree or above in Material, Surface Engineering
  • Solid knowledge of material, Thermal spraying process and coatings
  • Good knowledge of coating lab testing and analysis
  • Good knowledge of machining process and ability to understand machinery drawings.
  • Work in thermal spray or laser cladding related industry would be a plus.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal, German would be a plus
  • Very good communication and negotiation skills
  • Drive license would be a plus
  • Project management background would be a plus
  • Knowledge of ISO/TS16949 and APQP, PPAP, FMEA and other tools and methods would be a plus
