SwissCham Shanghai is delighted to invite you to visit Jiaxing. As the birthplace of Communist Party of China, demonstrative pilot city connecting with Shanghai of Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing has grown into a starlit city in the center of Yangtze River Delta region, with its superior traffic location, mature infrastructure facilities, competitive business cost and a solid industrial foundation.

The main content will include:
– Visit to the Advanced Manufacturing & Industry Base in Jiaxing
– Visit to the Jiaxing Government, Swiss and local companies
– Panel discussion among the local government, Chinese and Swiss company representatives (from Cainiao, JULI Automation, Weidmann, Plaston)
– Entrance to the the Light of the Internet Exhibition in Wuzhen (click here to register for the entrance badge to Wuzhen on Day 2)

Jiaxing Economic & Technological Development Zone is a state-level city-oriented EDZ founded in 1992, with a coverage area of 110km², 48% of the Jiaxing downtown. In 2018, JXEDZ ranked No.13 among 219 state-level EDZ in a comprehensive rating by Ministry of Commerce, ranked No.8 for utilizing foreign capital. For years three main industries: equipment manufacturing, auto parts and high-end food processing have been steadily forged. And more than 640 foreign invested companies, among which 35 fortune 500, have locally built up their own community. With a clear development insight and practical service theory of the government, JXEDZ has forged platforms like Zhejiang Sino-German Industrial Park and Majiabang healthy foods town and standard workshop park for lease to provide best environment to serve the need of investors.

Swiss companies like Weidmann, Plaston, CEKA are thriving well in JXEDZ, Weidmann established in 2009 and CEKA in 2017, what is worth mentioning is that Plaston, which firstly rented government standard workshops in 2004, bought their own land and built factory themselves in 2011, with a registered capital increase from 1780,000 USD to 10 million USD.
