GET THE INSIDE VIEW OF ANOTHER BUSINESS – Visit of T Park

November 16, 2017 @ 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm

The Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong & Swiss Association of Hong Kong together with T PARK to co-organize:

Visit of T Park

T · PARK signifies the continuous drive to shape Hong Kong’s “waste-to-energy” ambitions for the good of the community. It also reflects a vision to encourage positive change in people’s attitudes and behaviours towards waste management and resource recovery and recycling. T · PARK is more than just a plant, but a place to learn and engage in Hong Kong’s green force through its recreational and educational facilities.

During this visit, you can have better understanding of how ‘Self-sufficient’ can apply in THREE ASPECTS with no external supply of water and electricity due to the extremely remoteness of the site. First, “Heat energy” can be generated through the burning of sludge at an high temperature up to 800 OC, which supports 3 spa pools, as well as the heating and cooling system of the facility. Second, “Electricity” is generated by incinerators, turbines and condenser working together to recover heat energy and generate electricity to support the daily operation of the entire facility. It was told that surplus electricity has been sold to the electricity companies for generating revenue to support the operation costs of T-park. Last of three, “Total Water management” covers an on-site desalination plant supplying potable and process water. Wastewater is treated and reused for irrigation, flushing and cleansing purposes. T-park was open in May 2016 with over 41,000 visitors
