Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

With the support of SwissCham Shanghai, the Consulate General will organize the first 2018 economic mission to Wuxi, Jiangsu Province on May 28^th and 29^th, 2018. The mission will be led by Consul General Mr. Alexander Hoffet.

Located in southeast of Jiangsu Province, Wuxi is at the core of the Yangtse River Delta Region, a region known for its prosperous economy. The city borders Yangtze River to the north and the Taihu Lake to the south. Wuxi is 128 km away from Shanghai and it takes only half an hour to Shanghai by high-speed railway.

Wuxi is the birthplace of China’s national industry and commerce and township enterprises. Through more than 30 years of reform and opening up, Wuxi has become one of China’s Top Ten economically dynamic cities and has been on Forbes’ list of Best Commercial Cities in Mainland China for seven consecutive years.

Textile and clothing, machinery and equipment, electric wire and cable, motorcycle and electric vehicle, microelectronics and electronic information are the pillar industries of the city’s economy. In recent years, Wuxi has made intensive efforts to develop its strategic emerging industries including new energy, the internet of things, cloud computing, software and service outsourcing, industrial design, cultural and creative industry, energy conservation, environmental protection, new materials and bio-medicine.

As usual, travel expenses will be borne by the participants, which include back-and-forth transportation by high-speed train (organized individually with the suggested connection) and hotel accommodation (booked with local government’s agreement rate).

Participation requirements:

As the Economic Mission is organized by the Swiss Consulate, Swiss companies are preferred to participate.
The Consulate will reserve the right to make the final decision in regard to the participation list.
