Chinese like Switzerland for its Schengen Visas

by swisscham in General Interest

Switzerland issues Schengen visas faster than its neighbors. And Chinese take advantage of this visa policy without entering Switzerland. Many hotels are irritated because tourists make reservations in their hotels only in order to obtain visas. This new phenomenon appeared three months ago. Hoteliers regularly registered dozens of reservations from China and received cancellations just before their arrival. The worse thing is that travel agencies do not need to pay in advance, because their credit cards only work on spot. The problem was identified by the Swiss Consulate in Beijing. Chinese tourists use Swiss hotels to help them obtain Schengen visas. In fact, travel agencies quickly realized that the Swiss government is issuing visas faster than others members of the Schengen area. And when the tourists have their visas, they visit Europe without entering Switzerland.
