On July 23, the Embassy of China in Switzerland and the Marzili Film Association of Bern jointly organized the open-air film festival opening ceremony with China as the theme country. While the Sino-Swiss FTA signed on July 6 is a landmark in the history of Sino-Swiss bilateral relations, China and Switzerland also deepen exchanges in the cultural field. For example, Bern Historical Museum is holding a large terracotta exhibition to spread the Chinese culture, history and civilization to the Swiss people. This five days’ Bern open-air film festival displayed the Chinese social development and lifestyle. The first edition of the Bern open-air film festival was held in 2004 and aims to introduce film and cinema culture from different countries. This year’s festival lasted from July 23 till July 27. Five movies were presented during the festival.
