CLS Communication Becomes Part of Lionbridge Group

The combination of Lionbridge and CLS will address growing demand for integrated, technology-enabled translation solutions that allow organizations to create, translate and manage digital content worldwide. Lionbridge expects to purchase CLS Communication for approximately CHF 74 million, or approximately USD 77 million in cash, subject to estimated cash and debt adjustments at closing and certain post-closing adjustments.

ChinaÕs Customers Expect Higher Quality of Banking and Insurance Services

Customers in China are more vocal and actively express views on the quality of services provided by banks, insurers and e-retailers, compared to global counterparts, according to a recent KPMG survey. The publication, titled Customer Experience Barometer Ð ItÕs time to talk, surveyed 5,000 consumers in Australia, China, Germany, UK and the US, analyzing customersÕ experience of over 160 brands in the banking, general insurance, life insurance, utilities and e-retail sectors. Emerging markets Ð China in particular Ð will soon surpass global peers in terms of customer satisfaction level, the survey finds. ChinaÕs respondents reported the greatest improvement (11 to 26% points higher than the global average) in customer experience across all industry sectors surveyed.

Excitement for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazilª Builds up in China

As the countdown for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazilª reaches just 300 days, it is attracting ever more attention around the world and particularly across China. In recent weeks, Visa organised a top promotional event in Beijing in preparation for the FIFA World Cupª next year. Shankai Sports is appointed as Exclusive Sales Agent of MATCH Hospitality in China for the sale of the 2014 FIFA World Cupª and was joined by FIFA Partners such as Hyundai, Kia Motors and Emirates airlines. Mr. Feng Tao of Shankai Sports was also invited to make a speech outlining the ways in which Shankai’s involvement would also benefit the FIFA World Cupª sponsors. Despite there being no Chinese team participating in the competition, Shankai’s work established China as the largest market for hospitality in Asia for the FIFA World Cupª. As a result of this success, this year, Mr. Feng Tao expects even more Chinese guests to fly to Brazil then ever before.

NBS Wins 4 Awards of China MBA-EMBA

2014 China MBA Leaders Conference was held in Beijing on 3 May 2014. Prof. HE Zhiyi, EMBA student HU Cong, MBA student YUAN Bing attended this conference representing New Huadu Business School. On the conference, NBS got the honor of Top Ten MBA-EMBA Business School of China; Prof. HE Zhiyi won the title of Top Ten MBA-EMBA Teacher of China; Mr. HU Cong won the China MBA-EMBA Achievement Award; Mr. YUAN Bing won the China MBA-EMBA Contribution Award. Prof. HE Zhiyi gave a keynote speech on the conference. He pointed out that, in the future, there would be huge demand in entrepreneurship education. This estimation is based on 2 facts: first, marketization, which means the future markets will change for trends of minority; second, technical innovation, especially the internet technology makes large scale of mini enterprises make their products meet with minority needs, which means small and micro business venturing is possible.

Conditions and Requirements for the Export of Art from China

China’s traditional and fine art command an important part of the country’s rich heritage. Since ancient times, Chinese society has cherished its excellence in the arts. The exportation of traditional and fine art from China are protected by different regulations and relevant restrictions. The Law of the PeopleÕs Republic of China on Protection of Cultural Relics of 1982, which was recently amended at the Third Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National PeopleÕs Congress on June 29, 2013, governs the conservation and exportation of traditional art in China. Such exports are, of course, prohibited but can be authorized upon State Council approval. Chapter VI of the law also states that cultural relics to be taken out of the country shall be subject to examination and verification by the relevant authorities designated by the administrative department in charge of cultural relics under the State Council. Exhibitions of traditional art must also follow government procedures.
