SwissCham is delighted to invite you to join our next online session of our SSEF-Working Groups on the topic of Data-driven Decision Making  on Monday October 26, 2020.

After a first meeting with each of our five working groups, we will continue to deepen our knowledge in a second round of discussion. This second round will host four seminars each covering transversal issues that came out of our first exchanges:

  • Customer oriented certification (Thu, Oct 15)
  • Closing the Circle (Tue, Oct 20)
  • Data-driven Decision Making (Mon, Oct 26)
  • The future of gatherings (Tue, Oct 27)

Data-driven Decision Making

The shift of socio-economic activities to a more virtual realm, increasing computing capacities and decreasing data collection, storage and processing costs are leading to the production of massive volumes of information. The widespread use of mobile devices and improved connectivity are accelerating this information revolution

The “datafication” of our real world now allows the use of real-time monitoring tools. Statistics hence not only take a crucial role in raising awareness on economic, societal and environmental changes, but also play a major role in knowledge-based strategic decision-making.

From unstructured data to built-in management platforms, challenges are numerous. First of all, data accessibility, coverage, quality, consistency and reliability must be guaranteed. Tools have to be efficient, effective and user-friendly. Most importantly, stakeholder trust and commitment must be earned and maintained.

Companies engaged in this discussion will exchange on how to unlock the full potential of data-centric activities to create value. Underlying issues such as regulations, open data, consumer protection, systemic strategic approaches skills, etc. will be extensively discussed.
