BalTec Founds Chinese Subsidiary

In accordance with the companyÕs strategy and in order to be close to the customers, the riveting machine manufacturer BalTec has founded a subsidiary in Shanghai with the support of S-GE. Airbags, safety belts, electronic components and economy peelers all have something in common: they were riveted by a BalTec radial riveting machine. _ is means that the material was deformed within seconds by means of highly precise rotary movements Ð in a fashion that the combination cannot be broken. ÒIn 1968, the BrŠcker company mechanised manual hammering, and then rapidly proceeded to conquer the global market with its precision machinery,Ó says Domenico Mollo. He is the CEO of BalTec AG which took over the riveting machine business from BrŠcker in 1983. The Swiss quality machines that are determined for export (up to 97%) are developed and manufactured in PfŠffikon ZH. ÒThey are mainly used in the automotive and fitting industries, but also increasingly in the field of medical technologyÓ says Mollo.
