Hospitality Forum “Dynamics of Diversity”

Wednesday, December 06, 2017
2017年12月06日 星期三
10:00-18:00
@Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College Shanghai

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

Save the date for another Hospitality Forum – the fourth edition of our campus based industry event will take place on December 6th, this time focusing on the diversification of the Hospitality Industry.

The Hospitality Industry arguably is the most diverse of all industries as it covers a broad range of categories that all focus on delivering Service Experiences. In this light, Hospitality has long emancipated itself from being only associated with Hotel Businesses – digitalization and globalization accelerated the process of economic and social change thus leading to new industry boundaries.

The key speakers cover the many nuances of Hospitality today and thus represent the diversity of the Industry. They will give great insights on the importance of Hospitality values in their respective fields of work, including Event Management, Luxury Retail and Airline Services. In addition to these key speakers, selected Les Roches Jin Jiang postgraduate students will participate in the forum through a mini-workshop and presenting further food for thought.

As usual, the Hospitality Forum will start off with an on-campus lunch followed by keynote speeches and a panel discussion to “connect the dots”.

We’re looking forward to welcoming external guests and friends of the college to this event and are excited to collaborate once again with the Swiss Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai!

Best Regards,

Your SwissCham Team

10 costly mistakes during the hiring process and how to do it the right way

Wednesday, October 25, 2017
2017年10月25日
18:30 – 21:00
@swissnex China office (Shanghai)

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

In the aggressive business environment in China, hiring the right talents has remained the main challenges for foreign companies for years now. Human capital -as a competitive edge- has become more than ever decisive for a company’s success or failure in China.

Hiring the wrong person on the other hand can turn out to be not only a bad investment but can become a major threat to the business of particularly small companies.

In this interactive workshop by Mr. Hsiao J. CHIU, stories and practical examples of costly mistakes companies in China make during the hiring process will be shared. Mr. Fabian WERNER , the General Manager of Rampf (Taicang) Co., Ltd. and Mr. Nils BICKER, the General Manager of PILLER Blowers & Compressors Shanghai will also share their insights on the topic with their own experience.

The participants will learn about:

  • The cost and impact of hiring the wrong people
  • Key (costly) mistakes companies make during the hiring process
  • Causes for bad hiring and how to avoid them
  • Practical advice how to do it the right way

Best regards,

Your SwissCham Team
