“Back to Basics: Creating Customer Experiences”

Wednesday, April 11, 2018
2018年04月11日 星期三
10:00 – 18:00
@Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College Shanghai

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

We are excited to have our fifth Les Roches Jin Jiang Hospitality Forum on 11th April 2018, which will cover this important topic in detail. Our key speakers cover the many nuances of Hospitality today and with the rapid expansion of the industry, there is a need for us to focus at the importance of fundamentals; how creating “customers experience is the new marketing”, to quote Derek Sivers, founder of CD Baby. They will give great insights on the importance of Hospitality values in their respective fields of work, including luxury hotel, famous haute couture fashion house, Nespresso and personalized butler services.

Insights are focusing on first impressions but neglecting the importance of last impressions. Secondly customer experiences depend on subtle, textural impressions as they do on grand gestures. Thirdly, organizations are relying on the bosses however discount or fail to make use of front line, customer-facing employees with deep and intimate knowledge. Fourthly, Hospitality neglects the innovations and best practices of other industries. Lastly, the customers have a hard time articulating, or even knowing what is valuable to them; thus a challenge in creating or improving the customer experience.

In addition to these key speakers, selected Les Roches Jin Jiang postgraduate students will participate in the forum through a mini-workshop and presenting further food for thought.

The Hospitality Forum will start off with on-campus lunch followed by keynote speeches and a panel discussion to “connect the dots”. The audience will be composed of guests from a various Chambers of Commerce in Shanghai, external visitors and a blend of undergraduate and postgraduate students from our college.

Best regards,

Your SwissCham Team

Breakfast seminar – Rules for ‘Made in Switzerland’ Label: What does a Swiss Company Need to Know About the New Swissness Regulation?

by eggplant in

SwissCham Beijing is delighted to invite you to the Breakfast seminar – Rules for ‘Made in Switzerland’ Label:  What Does a Swiss Company Need to Know About the New Swissness Regulation?

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

Swiss-made goods and services are valued by consumers who are ready to pay a premium for goods that are Swiss made. The previous rules regulating the Swiss brand are often ignored by the market and enforcement is difficult and rare. The new Swissness legislation that came into force on 1 January 2017 is set to strengthen the conditions under which goods and services may be labeled with “Made in Switzerland” and bear the Swiss cross and to prevent freeriding on the Swissness-label even though the respective products are far away from being substantially manufactured in Switzerland.

Against this backdrop, how could Swiss enterprises better benefit from the new Swissness regulation in an especially dynamic market like China? We are glad to invite the visiting Acting Director General of the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) Dr./Prof. Fliex Addor to provide you a brief summary and insights on the Swissness regulation.

With best regards,

Your SwissCham Team

2-Day Training Program:

A3 – Problem Solving

Wednesday to Thursday, July 25-26th, 2018
2018年7月25日-26日 星期三至星期四
09:00-17:00
@Staufen Shanghai Office

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

(Practical) Problem solving (PPS) is the “power” behind continuous improvement, which is the backbone of Lean. There is a lot of discussion about how to introduce Lean and especially a CI (continuous improvement) Culture. It contains mainly identifying and solving business’s problems (and searching its improvement opportunities) at a higher level and to a deeper degree (search for root causes). Another aspect is: most companies believe they are capable of problem solving, but actually often inaccurate. Many just do action lists and firefighting and are lacking of a systematical and sustainable approach. Therefore, a real wide based ability in Practical Problem solving is the unique and most effective tool in order to become a learning organization.

What you will learn:

Over this 2-day seminar you will learn the “original” Toyota A3 PPS approach and how it differs from traditional methods, supported by practical examples and hints. You will get a clear understanding of how PPS is transferred from the day-to-day deviation between KPI targets and actual performance. Moreover, you will understand how to create a crew of problem solvers by Shop Floor Management.

Target Group:
All management levels from direct and indirect areas, CIP trainers

Best regards,

Your SwissCham Team
