“Back to Basics: Creating Customer Experiences”

Wednesday, April 11, 2018
2018年04月11日 星期三
10:00 – 18:00
@Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College Shanghai

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

We are excited to have our fifth Les Roches Jin Jiang Hospitality Forum on 11th April 2018, which will cover this important topic in detail. Our key speakers cover the many nuances of Hospitality today and with the rapid expansion of the industry, there is a need for us to focus at the importance of fundamentals; how creating “customers experience is the new marketing”, to quote Derek Sivers, founder of CD Baby. They will give great insights on the importance of Hospitality values in their respective fields of work, including luxury hotel, famous haute couture fashion house, Nespresso and personalized butler services.

Insights are focusing on first impressions but neglecting the importance of last impressions. Secondly customer experiences depend on subtle, textural impressions as they do on grand gestures. Thirdly, organizations are relying on the bosses however discount or fail to make use of front line, customer-facing employees with deep and intimate knowledge. Fourthly, Hospitality neglects the innovations and best practices of other industries. Lastly, the customers have a hard time articulating, or even knowing what is valuable to them; thus a challenge in creating or improving the customer experience.

In addition to these key speakers, selected Les Roches Jin Jiang postgraduate students will participate in the forum through a mini-workshop and presenting further food for thought.

The Hospitality Forum will start off with on-campus lunch followed by keynote speeches and a panel discussion to “connect the dots”. The audience will be composed of guests from a various Chambers of Commerce in Shanghai, external visitors and a blend of undergraduate and postgraduate students from our college.

Best regards,

Your SwissCham Team

Hospitality Forum “Dynamics of Diversity”

Wednesday, December 06, 2017
2017年12月06日 星期三
10:00-18:00
@Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College Shanghai

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

Save the date for another Hospitality Forum – the fourth edition of our campus based industry event will take place on December 6th, this time focusing on the diversification of the Hospitality Industry.

The Hospitality Industry arguably is the most diverse of all industries as it covers a broad range of categories that all focus on delivering Service Experiences. In this light, Hospitality has long emancipated itself from being only associated with Hotel Businesses – digitalization and globalization accelerated the process of economic and social change thus leading to new industry boundaries.

The key speakers cover the many nuances of Hospitality today and thus represent the diversity of the Industry. They will give great insights on the importance of Hospitality values in their respective fields of work, including Event Management, Luxury Retail and Airline Services. In addition to these key speakers, selected Les Roches Jin Jiang postgraduate students will participate in the forum through a mini-workshop and presenting further food for thought.

As usual, the Hospitality Forum will start off with an on-campus lunch followed by keynote speeches and a panel discussion to “connect the dots”.

We’re looking forward to welcoming external guests and friends of the college to this event and are excited to collaborate once again with the Swiss Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai!

Best Regards,

Your SwissCham Team

25th Anniversary

by eggplant in

About us

Founded in 1996, the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in China (SwissCham China) is the only Swiss non‐profit and non‐governmental business & trade association officially registered in Mainland China. Our main goal is to gather all actors of the Sino‐Swiss business community on a common platform to strengthen the political and economic bonds between the two countries to stimulate interaction and develop business opportunities. Our close relations with Swiss and Chinese official institutions allow us to have the ability to make your voice heard in regards to your experience in doing business in China. Since its inception, SwissCham China has grown in terms of members and services. The growth accelerated in the last few years and our offices cover Beijing, Shanghai, South China (Guangzhou and Shenzhen) and South West of China (Chengdu and Chongqing).

2021: a Jubilee Year

2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of SwissCham China, an iconic age.

We also would like to mention a few milestones. In 2007, Switzerland was the first Western country to recognize China as a market economy. Then, the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement on 1 July 2014 which is a true token of our eminent relations with China, not only in trade, but in various other fields. On 30 September 2015, Federal Councilor Alain Berset and Social Security Minister Yin Weimin signed a social security agreement, following a survey conducted by SwissCham China. 2020 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland. In 1950, Switzerland was one of the first Western countries to recognize the newly founded People’s Republic of China. The two countries have enjoyed long-term exchanges and cooperations ever since with remarkable results. Meanwhile, SwissCham China has developed during the last 25 years some unmissable events: The Ambassador’s and Consular Briefings, the Swiss Ball, the Sino‐Swiss Business Awards and of course the Sino‐Swiss Economic Forum.

These meaningful cobblestones undoubtedly map out a route full of opportunities for at least the next 25 years!

About the logo

We are very proud to present you our 25th anniversary logo, created by Ms. Barbara Seidelmann, founder and managing director of 5 Star Plus Retail Design, and her team. This agency provides branded retail and store design, consulting and project management services to high end brands wishing to enter, expand or redefine their presence in the Chinese market.”Key inspirations for the logo design were Chinese and Swiss elements that would be considered “typical” for these two countries – from art and culture, and especially calligraphy. The color scheme is kept simple with some red touches as a reference to the color in the Swiss and Chinese flags,” Barbara said.
