Given the competitive labor market in China, finding, hiring and retaining talents is of great importance to foreign and local companies alike. In addition to monetary compensation, companies have to develop other incentives to ensure that important employees stay with the firm. To discuss the newest developments and trends, we have invited three speakers from Wyeth nutrition (a Nestle company) and human resources consulting firm Mercer.

About the Speakers
Frank Qu, Regional President of Wyeth Nutrition Greater China Region
Mr. Frank Qu joined Wyeth Nutrition in 2005 as National Sales Director, and then being promoted to General Manager – Customer Development and Medical Operations in 2010. Mr. Qu was promoted to his current position as Regional President of Wyeth Nutrition, Greater China Region in May 2014.
Under his leadership Wyeth China has become the biggest sales generator of all Nestle Business in China, the company has consistently outperformed the market, reinventing its approach on several occasions in reflection of Wyeth’s commitment to embrace change.
Prior to joining Wyeth Frank held several senior management positions in SaraLee, Bacardi, L’Oreal and Gillette.
Frank holds a bachelor’s degree in History from East China Normal University and an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management.
Xu Yu, HR Director of Wyeth
Ms. Xu Yu is HR head of Wyeth GCR, joining Wyeth in September 2016, responsible for overall HR strategy development and operations. She has more than 18 years HR experience, held leadership roles in certain global corporations, including Pfizer and IBM. Xu Yu received Ph.D. Degree and M.S. Degree in East China Normal University.
Edwin Yan, Consulting Director of Mercer Marsh Benefits
Based in Shanghai, Edwin currently holds the position of East China consulting lead at Mercer Marsh Benefits. Prior to taking up his current role, he was the Hong Kong retirement practice lead with another international consulting firm, and had experience working with public sector multiemployer benefit arrangements in Canada.
Edwin is a strong advocate of flexible benefits and total rewards and speaks regularly on these topics in public seminars. He developed course content for the total rewards module at Mercer College China and also acted as instructor for the open-to-public course in 2018. His other areas of expertise include the design and implementation of incentive plan design and defined contribution retirement plans.
Edwin holds a degree in economics and statistics from the University of British Columbia and expects to become an Associate of the Society of Actuaries in 2019.
