by swisscham in Consulting, Legal, Services, Tax

On 12 June 2013, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) announced its publication of the new HKIAC Administered Arbitration Rules (the “New Rules”) which will take effect on 1 November 2013. The publication of the New Rules follows a year-long revision process based on the 2008 Rules which have been successfully applied for five years. The New Rules maintain the HKIAC ‘light touch’ approach inspired partly by the Swiss Arbitration Rules to “facilitate effective institutional involvement within a framework that recognizes the importance of party autonomy”.
