HE Bernardino Regazzoni
Ambassador of Switzerland to the PRC
HE Bernardino Regazzoni was born on 28 March 1957 in Lugano, his place of origin is Balerna (Canton of Ticino). He obtained a Ph. D. in Philosophy in 1983 at the University of Florence/Italy and after joining the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1988, he completed his training in Berne at the Integration Office (Federal Department of Foreign Affairs/Federal Department of the Economy) and at the Embassy of Switzerland in Abidjan. In 1990, he was posted as Deputy Head of Mission to the Embassy of Switzerland in Kinshasa. On his return to Berne in 1993, he was appointed Head of the Francophonie Service at the Political Division I and in 1996 he was nominated Deputy Chief of the Political Division I, responsible for the bilateral political relations with European and North American countries. In mid-1999 he became Diplomatic Affairs Advisor of the Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. From September 2002 to July 2006 he was appointed Ambassador of Switzerland to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Republic of Maldives, based in Colombo. In July 2006, he took up the post of Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Indonesia and to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, and from July 2009 he was also the Ambassador of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), based in Jakarta. In January 2010, he was appointed Ambassador of Switzerland to Italy, Malta and San Marino based in Rome and in May 2014 to the French Republic and the Principality of Monaco based in Paris.

Nicolas Bideau was born in 1969. After studies in Lausanne, Brussels, Paris and Beijing he obtained a degree in Political Science. He joined the FDFA in 1999. In 2002 he became diplomatic advisor to the head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs. From January 2003 he was advisor to the head of the Federal Department of Home Affairs during his presidential year. At the beginning of 2004 Bideau became head of the Competence Centre for Cultural Foreign Policy in the FDFA. In October 2005 he moved to the Film section of the Federal Department of Home Affairs. In 2011, Nicolas Bideau has been appointed head of Presence Switzerland (PRS).
