Committees
SwissCham Beijing's Board of Directors recommends the creation of a Committee whenever there is a significant number of Members in the same industry.
There are now five Committees at SwissCham Beijing:
- Bank/Finance/Insurance (BFI)
Engineering/Manufacturing (EM)
Hospitality/Food/Beverage (HFB)
Legal/Tax/Consulting (LTC)
Trade/Retail/Services (TRS)
How does a Committee function?
A Committee takes all its sense with its members. To have a lively committee, members are encouraged to voice their concerns and ideas for any industry-related topics either through the Committee representatives (Panel), the Board of Directors or the Committee Manager.
For lobbying and government relations matters, SwissCham represent the members towards the appropriate counterparts, among others the Swiss Embassy, the EUCCC European Chamber of Commerce in China and the CCPIT.
For other kind of industry-related topics, the Committee representatives, together with the members and SwissCham will organise Committee roundtables to discuss a specific issue with personalized solutions and answers to the members’ questions.
How to become member of a Committee?
Members are attributed automatically to the Committee corresponding to their industry. Committee Membership does not imply any commitment or additional membership fees. You may at any time quit or change Committees, or join more than one Committee by simple request.
If you want to become a Committee representative and that you want to actively contribute to your committee’s dynamism and added value, you can apply to become one of the three heads of the panel.
